J. JONATHAN RUSSO is a founding principal of Airwave Strategies, Inc. (ASI) a full service telecommunication management and consulting firm. ASI represents several major telecommunication companies throughout the Northeast as a consultant and local leasing representative.
Services performed include site evaluation and acquisition which includes developing communications sites from inception to completion and handling planning and zoning issues. Clients represented include Sprint Telecommunications Venture, T-Mobile, Northcoast Communications, Sirius Satellite Radio, Metricom, Skytel, Conxus, PageNet and others.
ASI provides communication site management services to tower and building owners, managers and developers in the Tri-State area.
Mr. Russo is a graduate of the University at Buffalo where he acquired a Bachelor of Science in accounting. He subsequently became a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and attended New York University where he obtained his Master of Science in Real Estate.
Mr. Russo’s experience began with the real estate consulting firm of Kenneth Leventhal & Co. He represented major real estate institutions and developers throughout the United States. His responsibilities included developing workout strategies for real estate developers and bank real estate portfolio restructuring. He developed computer models for acquisition and development of real estate projects and provided valuations of RTC assets in connection with the sale of loan portfolios.
He then joined Bankers Trust Company as a telecommunication and real estate analyst. His duties entailed preparing cash flow projections and evaluating loan restructuring and refinancing alternatives for commercial and residential properties. He monitored commercial mortgages and owned real estate portfolios to establish credit reserves and identify market risk. Additional responsibilities included evaluating commercial lease transactions for lender approval and preparing market research and economic analysis for bank owned investments.
Mr. Russo’s is affiliated with American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Lambda Alpha International Student Association and New York University Alumni Association.
